The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sacked Director National Cricket Academy Nadeem Khan, according to sources.

He was given letter of termination by the PCB on Tuesday, May 2, as per the sources.

Nadeem, who is the elder brother of the former Pakistani wicketkeeper Moin Khan, was appointed during the regime of Ehsan Mani. He has served as a Domestic Director and the Director of National Cricket Academy, formerly known as the PCB High Performance Centre.

Nadeem appointed many domestic coaches across the country and also made a number of important decisions when the domestic system was changed during former Prime Minister Imran Khan's tenure.

Nevertheless, Nadeem Khan was transferred to the women’s wing a few weeks ago by the new PCB management led by Najam Sethi and salary was also cut in half.

The new PCB management sidelined him and appointed PCB management committee member Azad Syed as the head of the National Academy.

Nadeem is the second director, after the former director Human Resource Serena Agha, to be sacked by the PCB.

It must be noted that Nadeem was recognised as an influential director during Ehsan Mani's era.

Earlier, the Sethi-led PCB Interim Management Committee was been given an extension of two months to reimplement the 2014 constitution.

The notification in this regard was issued by the ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination last month after approval from PCB’s Patron-in-Chief and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The committee was formed on December 22, last year, and was initially given a term of 120 days.

After the extension, the management committee will stay in charge till June 21, 2023.
